2015 Ford Fiesta ST: Joshua's Unsuspecting Pocket Rocket

May 10, 2018

My name is Joshua and I'm a subcontractor, having completed my apprenticeship in 2017. Since then, I have also started to learn carpentry.

I currently drive a highly-modified 2015 Ford Fiesta ST that makes 200kW at the wheels.

How long have you had the car for? How much did it cost?

I have owned the car since new, purchasing it back in February, 2016 for $27,000. I have since put on 27,5000 trouble-free kilometres on the odometer, which is pretty impressive considering how heavily-modified it is.

How does your car drive?

The car drives extremely well, almost like stock considering all the modifications I’ve done to it. I used to daily the car for about 2 years before finally purchasing something more suitable for daily driving.

How reliable is your car?

The car has been absolutely rock solid considering it’s pushing almost double the stock power to the wheels. Obviously there are always little things here and there that happen but the car has been an absolute gem to own and drive.

What is the best thing about your car?

The best thing about the car probably has to be the fact that it’s an absolute sleeper, you get no attention from anyone. It truly epitomises the phrase 'a wolf in sheep's clothing'.

What modifications have you made?

So the car as it sits now is pretty heavily modified. There are many more mods but just to name a few bigger turbo, turbo-back exhaust, larger intercooler, air intake, heavy-duty clutch and lightweight flywheel, but most importantly - an LSD to get the power down to the floor.

What plans do you have for mods?

Currently I don’t really have anymore plans for the car. I would like to maybe look into getting a decent set of coilovers, perhaps a big brake kit and look in to running aux fuel to run e85.

How often do you see another car like yours on the road?

The Fiesta ST is an extremely uncommon car. In recent years I’ve seen a lot more than when I’d first purchased it. Originally when I first got it I went a few months before even seeing another and even now I might see one on the road ever couple weeks.

Does your car attract attention? For the right or wrong reasons?

During track days and motorkhanas the car does attract a little bit of attention. People in the car scene for the most part have heard about them and are curious. My car doesn’t really attract much attention on the streets from anyone.

Would you recommend your car to someone else your age?

Absolutely! This car is so much fun to drive and with so much aftermarket support you can do almost anything with it.
